Foo dogs provide character and hold my cook books in place.
An oversized paper clip holds recipes. I love my matrushka measuring cups.
The tv has been such an awesome addition.
The instant heat faucet was quite possibly the second best addition after the pot filler. Love it. All cabinetry is IKEA. Behind, the beginnings of a great photo wall... one of my favorite things to gaze at. I just need the time to finish it. It's been fun to share... come back soon! xo
It's beautiful! Love it all including the foo dogs. What is the flooring?
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous. I absolutely love the tile and the colour palette is simply beautiful.

Posting has prompted me to actually finish the project... all that's left to do is to install speakers in the ceilings. Going to text my electrician today and see if he can do that soon too. Then it will be DONE!

So beautiful! I love the backsplash. That would be a good alternative to my marble countertops, since I'm pretty sure I'd ruin them!
ReplyDeleteps- the floor is a 12"x24" grey travertine although the dark photos don't really convey that. And I'm thrilled to admit those cabinets are a bargain from IKEA! yup you heard right. I've been very pleased with the quality. These budget savings allowed me to incorporate small luxuries like the pot filler, instant heat faucets and waterfall counter tops.

Great Blog i love to know about home interior and kitchens.
ReplyDeleteOh! I just noticed that your mortar and pestle has a similar texture with your kitchen wall tiles! That's so great. I wonder if I was the only one who noticed that. Anyway, the little details in your kitchen are what makes it unique. The large paper clips and the red boiler (it looks like one to me) are other excellent details I found in your kitchen. Great job in designing them!
ReplyDeleteThanks to every one for the lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteChase- that red thing is a giant apple. :)
Hi Erica,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you could share what your countertop material is? I'd been planning on using marble for new countertops, but recently changed my mind. I love yours!! And your kitchen is beautiful!
Thanks so much,
Kerry
Hi there Kerry! Thanks so much for the lovely compliment and for reading Moth Design.
ReplyDeleteThe counter surface is Hanstone, colour: Swan Cotton.
I've found it to be pretty much impervious/resistant to every possible type of wear and tear. Hope this helps! :)
Your kitchen is STUNNING! Bravo! Bravo! xx

ReplyDeleteThanks so very much Adorned Life! xo
ReplyDeleteHeather- Interior Groupie, thanks for dropping by and for your kind words! xo
Jackie, Thanks to you as well for dropping by and for the sweet comment. The clear canisters are from a store here called Chintz and Co. However I am sure you could find something similar at homegoods or target. Mine actually came with white pebbles for floral arranging. I bought them for the bottle of course! ;) xo
Beautiful Kitchen! Love everything! I just have one wee question, how long is the island?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much ANON. The island is exactly 9' 4" long. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen - where did you find those counter stools?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Shannon! The stools are from Homesense. Homegoods in the states. Hope this helps. :)
ReplyDeleteDarn! I was hoping that wasn't the answer - will be much harder to track down now! I'm in Toronto but have never seen those at my local Homesense. Having an awful time finding stylish, affordable, kid friendly, counter-height stools. gasped when I saw those.
ReplyDeleteJust poking around your site after your 6th St Design feature today. We also designed our home, and installed horizontal outlets, LOVE them! I'm also adoring your closet and living room, pinning up a storm from your site:)
ReplyDeleteJessica
Love the kitchen and your blog! I'm in the middle of a complete kitchen reno and love the little niche above the gas range.
ReplyDeleteCan I ask what brand your stove, exhaust range and fridge are? I really like the clean lines and think they may work well in our kitchen!
Mary
Hi Mary!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely words.
The stove is bertazzoni, the fridge is fisher paykel and the hood fan is a brand carried at costco. (Arkona I think)
Thanks for your reply! I was looking at a fisher paykel fridge awhile ago but couldn't find many reviews on it. It's not a brand that is popular here in Canada. How is the fridge working out? Would you recommend it?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Mary
