It's so nice to have a welcoming place to curl up at night. I absolutely love my vintage headboard... yet another thing I sprayed creamy white.
To me, in this piece called 'day breaking', the artist has perfectly captured so many feelings; or at least the painting elicits them in me: joy, hope, gratitude for a new day...
The boy side frequented by my almost 2 yr old. He doesn't need to stash cuff links yet. Isn't that clock fantastic and masculine? Oh and remember the outdoor room as mentioned here? More on that soon!
These doors lead to a roof top patio. I'm such a lucky girl. Here too I have a second set of giant glass orbs to prop the doors when weather permits.
The photo doesn't do justice to details, but that little black jewelry box has the most exquisite epi-leather cover, another glass orb, and a better shot of my luxe silk and wool carpet. Yum!
This fireplace makes a great secondary focal point upon entering the space. The gold shoes, I share with Oprah, remind me to strive for excellence.
Pink on pink?? Yes! Because... "I can do whatever I like, I can do whatever I like, yeah!"
I don't love the monster black box (I don't even watch tv)... it's fantastic when one of my little guys is sick or I want to watch a girly movie. It was a challenge convincing the installation guys to put the cable/blue ray components on the floor.
Some of my favourite things...
Some more here.... those are the house of harlow bangles mentioned here...

So, I have all of you to thank. I craved this gem of a getaway, however, before it was a cluttered mess. The desire to post jump started a much needed clean up. Thanks lovely ladies!! xoxo
ps- Forgot to mention, I tend to be frugal and most pieces were picked up on discount. It shows you don't have to spend a ton to achieve a look. (ok, gold shoes and jewelry excluded!)

ReplyDeleteas i was looking at all of your suite pics, the one adjective (other than amazing, pretty, dreamy, elegant, etc) i kept thinking in my head was... luxurious. so i was in complete shock that the last thing you said was you got most things on discount and you didn't spend alot!! you've got mad skills!! and i'm in love with your vintage headboard
ReplyDeleteLovely, amazing, stunning! What more can I say? Who is the photographer of "Daybreak?" It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeletewhere did you get that bench at the end of your bed...beautiful! Following now...from http://rachelpinkpants.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI love the painting above your bed - who is the artist?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amanda
Hey Loves!
ReplyDeleteSkifty- the bench was a homesense purchase.
The art above the bed is a piece called Daybreaking by artist Rachelle Kearns. I'm not entirely sure if she's painting anymore. Best to contact Canvas gallery (canvasgallery.ca) for info on her work.
And ps... the last image art piece was purchased at a student showing from the local art school. It's unsigned and I have no way of knowing who it was done by... sorry.
ReplyDeleteI have just spent the entire day going through your blog front to back. Your style is spot on. I'd love to know the name of the white you painted your kitchen and where you got that fabulous lucite tissue box.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thanks so much Michelle! That comment makes my day. The white I used throughout is called Clear Moon by Behr (available at Home Depot) Another colour that's almost exactly the same is Silver Lining by Pratt and Lambert. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteThe lucite tissue holders were from a store called Caban that has since closed. However, I'll take a look and see if I can source where they're from.
Thanks again for taking the time to read Moth Design and for the lovely compliment. :) Erica

Hi Erica
ReplyDeleteI adore your home and everything you do. I am currently in the process of deciding on window furnishings for our new house and am just wondering what you've got in your master bedroom/the rest of your house and what your thoughts are on windows furnishings in general :)
