Hello Lovers! Last week I escaped the tent of testosterone I live in and took on NY with Melissa from Veranda Interiors for Blogfest2012. Such a great time. We arrived in the early evening and hit the ground running with an night of basic, old school partying. (the back to the room at 4am variety)
Despite our late night we got an early start and did a heavy day of shopping. The day after started with a more shopping and then our highly anticipated stop at Drybar for some serious hair attention.
The awesome peeps at Drybar were generous enough to sponsor our small group of bloggers (see below) with one of their famous blowouts. Just look at this fab group of ladies!
For those unfamiliar with Drybar, I blogged about it (here), they offer blowouts only, at a flat rate of $35, in a salon that is easy on the eyes. Here I am (below) with Drybar founder, Alli Webb. You've got to admire her. I love it when someone is able to take a simple idea, execute it in an amazing way and build an empire in the process. Alli, you're my hero!
We also received swag bags upon our departure that were provided by Joss & Main. Inside were on-the-go iPhone/iPad charging batteries by Griffin- super practical and a fun idea to give to bloggers. I had such a lovely conversation with Emily Docken Webster of Joss & Main. She was super cool too.
I should also mention what a hit my Alexander McQueen scarf was. I don't know that I've ever gotten so many compliments on a single accessory. It's a new fave in my books that I'm pretty sure everyone needs! (here)
From Drybar we voyaged to the Kipps Bay Home Show, but missed it...that's a whole other story. From there we caught the blogfest bus to the Savant Party where Thom Filicia was guest host. I was beyond excited to meet so many bloggers, that I've considered friends for years, in person for the first time (too many to name). Here we are below with Tiffany from Savor Home. Sadly there were more that I didn't get to meet and more sad... I was forgetful with picture taking.
We hit Balenciaga and each walked out with some yummy goods. I'm holding my new red bag in the image second from the top. I also bought the most delicious candles that now sweetly scent my whole home. I highly recommend them! (available here)
ABC Carpet & Home was mind boggling. I could have spent a small fortune there. But I didn't.
Some other stops... Kate Spade, Bergdorf Goodman, FAO Schwarz, and Magnolia Bakery.
We got pizza in Times Square at what seemed like the middle of the night and we saved the best treat for the plane ride home.
I had the very best tour guide ever (Melissa) and now I find myself thinking I can't wait to make my way back to this amazing city. xo
