I was inspired to start a new series after receiving several emails asking how to achieve different looks in some of the images posted on Moth Design. So, here goes! This one seemed to inspire lots of interest.
I'm never one to condone replication or copy of someone else's art or creative work, but in this case there's no harm in suggesting pieces that may contribute to a similar look or aesthetic. After all, we're not recreating the wheel:
Layer with books and other treasured objects, stand back and enjoy! xo

I do enjoy a lovely layered bookshelf :)
without question there is an 'art to display'
it all about composition. no?
oh wow, love this!
Thanks Brittany and Sierra!
And Yes, I totally agree Renee, composition is a large part of things. :)
Such a fabulous bookcase- love all of your white and gold picks!
so gorgeous. love this post.
xoxo
love that gold apple! I think it's always interesting to see how balance is found in asymmetrical displays - I have a tendency to go with symmetry.
Thanks Christine and Lauren! xo
Anne-Marie... the interesting thing is that there's balance and symmetry in the asymmetry. If that makes sense. I think that repetition is what makes it ok... otherwise it just ends up feeling like a mess. :) xo
That golden apple is so cute! Love it. xo
